About Our Board

The Board for Student Publications was established by the Board of Regents of the University to oversee non-technical publications. Today that includes The Michigan Daily newspaper, the Michiganensian yearbook, the Gargoyle humor magazine and SHEI Magazine. The Board consists of nine members appointed by the President of the University. At least four members are alumni of one of the University's student publications and at least three are members of the University community, which includes students, faculty and staff. Each member serves a three-year term and members can serve no more than three consecutive terms. The editors-in-chief and business managers of each publication serve ex-officio on the Board.
