Shown in photo: 2018 Ray O'Hara Award in Sports Writing at The Michigan Daily recipient Orion Sang, who won this merit award supporting a Daily sports staff member with an investigative, ethical style that exhibits candor, a search for truth, and a sense of humor. The award was established by current Board Member, Alan Broad (UM ’70) in 2003 in memory of Ray O’Hara, a sports writer for The Daily in the mid-1970s who was a personal friend of Alan's.
Our annual celebration of the students who receive these special tributes, and the unforgettable individuals whose memory they carry on, is an extraordinary day. We look forward to our donors, alumni, family and friends joining us for this heart-warming event.
