Fall 2020 Reunion (via Zoom)

Date/Time:

Location:
Online via Zoom

We're moving ahead with a Fall 2020 Reunion -- remotely!
Be a part of the adventure, as we find creative ways to celebrate The Michigan Daily's "130 Years of Editorial Freedom," while Michiganensian anticipates its 125th edition, in Spring 2021. The Gargoyle Humor Magazine completed its 111th Volume this spring, and SHEI Magazine stepped fashionably into its second decade.

Alumni and students of Student Publications are invited to join an online reunion, featuring spotlight speakers, a panel discussion, TED-style TMDtalks, and more, on relevant and intriguing topics. Plus plenty of time to "hang out" with people from your decade, or your publication's department (Sports, Opinion, Business, etc for the Daily; Ensian, Gargoyle, SHEI and possibly even some Generations alumni can gather in their own groups.)

Here's the Agenda for the weekend:
Friday, Sept. 11 at 7pm: The first hour is a panel discussion "Journalism: the beacon of democracy" featuring Daniel Okrent, Chastity Pratt, Keith Richburg, Julie Rovner, and Zayna Syed, moderated by Maya Goldman. Following are TMDtalks by Sara Fitzgerald and Rod Beard. Then Zoom-linked meetings By-the-Decades starting approx. 8:45pm.

Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7pm: "Justice In Dialogue: Cheryl Pilate and Barb McQuade" and "The EIC Address" by Lizzy Lawrence. Zoom meetings by Dept./Section Desk or Publications follow at approx. 8:30pm.

Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3pm: Scholarships and Awards Celebration by Zoom!

It all takes place, for free, during our Fall 2020 Reunion weekend, Fri. Sept. 11 and Sat., Sept. 12 from 7pm-10pm EST on both dates....plus Scholarship & Awards Celebration on Sun. Sept. 13, 3pm-4:30pm... So please mark your calendars!

If you are a student-recipient of a scholarship or merit award, or supporter of them, please be sure to tune in Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3pm to learn more about the exciting things happening to help further the education and careers of Student Publications students -- all thanks to our big-hearted and thoughtful donors who help students carry on the traditions that make this place so memorable and meaningful.

All events are free, but register by Thursday, Sept. 10th by emailing Lisa Powers, our Stewardship and Alumni Relations Officer, in order to receive login information.
