Mark Dillen is an international media and communications consultant with a long career in US Foreign Service. Recently he was a Fulbright Scholar teaching a course on US news media to graduate students in Lviv - his second Fulbright in the Ukraine. While in Foreign Service, Mark managed media relations for US embassies in Rome, Berlin, Mosco, Sofia and Belgrade. He was Director fo the Office of Press Relations at the Department of State, and a Diplomat-in-Residence at Johns Hopkins. Mark earned a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University, a BA (cum laude) in Russian and East European Studies from UM, and attended the program for Senior Managers in Government at Harvard's Kennedy School. He speaks eight languages, including Russian, Ukrainian, German, Italian, and Croatian. While at UM, he was the Deputy Editorial Page Editor and the weekend Magazine editor from 1970-73.
